Packing away from sight
to see
All the things I do not need
Dresses long and keepsakes dear
Lovely things I don’t use here
Silk green leaves in an
autumn breeze
What use now is this to me?
Slick silver fish from a salty sea
Stowed pictures hold the memory.
Empty hangers, shelves
now clear
Of all the things I don’t use here
Pack up and leave my closet bare
Suitcases full of unused wear
Locked away and left to
wait
For an unknown future date
Until their use revitalized
No more, their view, to greet my eyes
For is there a sadder sight
to see
Than lovely things without a need?
